I bought this water bottle to take on a long road trip. I use a Britta pitcher at home and wanted the same level of filtration for the campground and hotel water I would be drinking. So far it is working great… mostly. Right off the bat, I was really pleased with the ergonomics of the thing. It fits nicely in my car’s cupholder. When I’m driving and feel like a drink of water, I can pick up the bottle, open it, take a drink, close it again, and put it back in the cupholder, all with one hand and without taking my eyes off the road. Long drives are thirsty work, so this has turned out to be super useful.I saw some reviews complaining that the straw offers too much resistance. This hasn’t been an issue for me. It’s about like drinking a soft milkshake through a big straw. What has been an issue is the filling experience. To fill the bottle, you have to unscrew the top. This comes away and brings the straw with it. There is water in the straw, and this invariably drains onto my pants and shoes. I’m left holding the bottle in one hand and the top / straw in the other, and then have to manipulate the spigot or whatever I’m filling from. There is a fill line on the bottle (located on the opposite side from the Britta logo, which feels backwards), and this is important. If you fill the bottle to the brim and then replace the top, the straw displaces a bunch of water. More water on the shoes and pants. But, if you fill it this way, you’re leaving capacity on the table: as soon as you pull water up into the straw, the bottle is no longer full. The pro way is to fill the bottle to the brim, then pull some water up into the straw *before* replacing the top. All of this is a major rigmarole, and not a fun one to repeat multiple times a day. There is another usability problem with this bottle. It occurs when the bottle is partly full and left in the sun or a hot car. The air trapped in the bottle expands, and when you open the lid, the water inside the straw is forced out… onto your shoes and pants. I’ve had this happen enough times now that I should see it coming, but it continues to surprise and annoy me.All in all, this thing is really good, and I would buy it again if I lost it or broke it. I just hope they sort out the usability problems with the next generation.

I really love this Brita bottle! I got the 36 oz plastic one in the sea glass color. It is a very pretty color that reminds me of the ocean. The handle was a little bent because of how Amazon shipped it, but it is still functional. The water tastes great!I originally bought the 26 oz plastic bottle. But I lost it someplace. When I went to buy another, I decided to go for the insulated stainless steel one. That was a huge mistake and waste of money. That one doesn’t hold as much because of the space needed for the insulation. I felt like every time I opened it, it was empty. It also was a mistake because you need to put water in it already icy cold if you want to drink cold water. Because of its insulation, if you just put in regular moderately cold tap water, the insulation will maintain that moderately cold temperature. It took about 48 hours of having it in the fridge before the water would get cold. That was not going to work for me to have flexible use of it. Therefore, I ordered this 36 oz plastic one. This one is the perfect one. The water tastes so good that I drink a lot, so I don’t feel like I’m constantly refilling the 36 oz as I did for the smaller sizes. Also, the water gets cold very quickly when you put the plastic one in the fridge. This one meets all of my needs for the bottle.I highly recommend this!ONE MONTH UPDATE: I discovered that the 36 oz bottle will not fit in the cup holder of my car. But I just sit it on the passenger seat, and it is flat enough to stay standing. Itβs also only water. I still love this bottle.

I can’t stand tap water, so in addition to my Brita filter, I thought this would be a great purchase. I liked how easily it came apart, how easy it was clean, no major carbon impact and all that jazz. It has been a good purchase, for the most part, but like many other reviews, I had issues with the mouthpiece. However, I found a way to deal with it.First off, the mouthpiece *can* come out. All you have to do is squeeze it and push it down with a twist. Out it pops, letting you scrub it with a mini bottle brush (also purchased on Amazon, and also what I use to scrub out the straw) and/or soak it in a bleach solution to get rid of any weird coloring or icky germs. It’s worked great for me through 2 bottle purchases (26oz and 36oz respectively), weekly washing, and I haven’t had any issues getting the mouthpiece back in over the last year and a half.

Pro: Worked great in Turks where the drinking water was bad. I was able to have clean drinking water without spending money. Handle was a nice way to carry it. Snapping lid helped keep the sand out and dirt off the drinking spout where the other model didn’t have this feature. It didn’t seem leak at all.Cons: Hard to get sip from. I found myself straining unless I bit the tip of it. I found that it doesn’t taste that great. Depending on the water source. I tried this while on vacation and back at home and it taste funny. You can still taste the filter. *Don’t stick it in the freezer! The filter will crack and damage the filter delivering stem (learned that the hardway). It would be a great feature if this was also a thermos and kept the water cold.

The 36 ounce size is perfect for caring around. Itβs not too big does it get in the way colors are beautiful itβs very durable does not leak. The lid closes very nicely stays closed. The filter is easy to replace and change although the mouthpiece is a little difficult to clean thoroughly, I drink a lot of water every day so I went through a filter in about a month were says it is good for two months but I could taste the quality of the water decreasing after a month only thing thatβs annoying is when do you think the bottles empty and you take the lid off to refill water is retained in the straw and spilled everywhere so you have to make sure to let it drain out before you remove it from the bottom
