   I prefer the seamless rolled tube over the bags like this as I like the ability to customize the size. With this if the bag is too small, you’re out of luck. If it’s too big, you’re wasting some. However, that main gripe aside this works well. I’ve mostly used it for sealing some of the items I keep in my car in case I break down or get snowed in on a mountain pass, or when far from home, as well as items I want to preserve for long term storage. I’ve used them to compress and store gauze for my first aid kits to keep bandages and gauze dry and it also makes them smaller for easier storage.

   I have used many “off-brand” sealing bags and none of them have worked as well as the Foodsaver brand. The extra cost (which I have found is minimal) is well worth it in the end.
