Due to a problem with my ankle, my doctor recommended a lace up brace. This is a very good quality. It lends the stronger support I need when out walking long distance. I purchased the size that would fit a woman’s size 10 foot. I’m not 100% sure that it’s the right size for me as my foot gets wider about where the brace stops on my foot. I have a difficult time getting my foot through the opening, which I don’t love but can get used to I suppose, but if I wear it more than an hour, it starts to hurt a bit around the brace opening. The card that came with my brace said to contact them if any problems and I’ve done that via email to see if I should be doing something different or if I should have ordered the larger size, but I’ve never heard from the company. While this may be the correct size for my foot (still unsure), I’m giving this four stars because I’m not sure it is and the company never responded to my email (and it’s been many weeks) Yes, I’ll be trying to contact them again, but it’s tiresome to have to chase customer service down. So to sum up: a really good lace up brace – but perhaps ask them a question about sizing before you purchase just to be sure.

I’m relatively new to the ankle brace scene due to a recent baseball injury so I bought a handful of ankle braces to take for a test drive. This ankle brace (“Zenith Ankle Brace, Lace Up Adjustable Support”) was most similar to the “McDavid Level 3 Ankle Brace with Straps” that I received, so I thought it would be a fair apples-to-apples comparison.DESIGN: Overall, they’re the EXACT same, criss-cross under the arch with the over-ankle wrap design. It was the same level of effort to lace up and put on both braces.MATERIAL: The material on the McDavid felt higher quality and had slightly less “stretch”.BUILD QUALITY: I have not owned either long enough to reasonably assess the build quality, but if I were to guess by the quality of stitching between the two, I’d guess the McDavid will hold up longer.RANGE OF MOTION: There was less lateral movement in the McDavid (I’d guesstimate about 25% less) which felt like I’d have less of a chance of re-injuring my ankle with the McDavid. I wasn’t looking for full stabilization, but just enough so my ankle would be protected from injury.COMFORT: They were equally as comfortable although the rougher inside stitched edges of the Zenith felt more likely to cause irritation if worm without a sock (if that’s how you’re planning to wear it).PRICE: At the time of writing this, the Zenith and McDavid prices were within a dollar of each other on Amazon, so the price difference was not a factor.Overall, the Zenith is not bad and had I not purchased the McDavid at the same time, I would have been perfectly happy with the Zenith and none-the-wiser that there were better options out the for the money. I’m going to keep the Zenith as a backup, but I don’t expect to wearing it much anytime soon.

works ok but being a tall guy (6’4″) a longer or taller version would be nice. I am sure more would like this option as well.

Went from a very bad sprained ankle to needing more protection and support. Our football player (14 years old) uses this and says it helps a lot. He denies it hindering his playing abilities.

Strained my achilles and couldn’t put any weight on it.Used this brace and within two days the pain was gone. Used it for another 2 weeks just be sure I didn’t re-injure it.Edit:A tip for new users; be sure to loosen the laces alot before putting on. Once you slip you foot through, they tighten up fairly easily.

I have never written an amazon review before but this brace has been a lifesaver. I have an injured tendon/ligament in my foot and it was keeping me from running. This brace allowed me to run full out again. It can be a little uncomfortable (I have to wear two pairs of tall socks) but the trade off is you get maximum stability. Highly recommend.

My son had ankle injuries all through high school. The pain was so bad he considered not playing until his senior year when I bought this brace. No more ankle issues period! He loved it! So I bought one for the other ankle as a prevention. 2022 MVP Offensive Player (Running Back) later! You can adjust it to your fit and comfort level. He never had to get tapped by the athletic trainer again! See photo and look at the bend at his ankle. No pain during or after! I’d get the brace as a prevention period! I noticed the first pic, showed it to him, and we marveled and laughed at how supportive and flexible this brace is. It looks bulky but don’t let that fool you. As you can see in the pic it doesn’t hinder or prevent movement or flexibility. Kudos to the designer and manufacturer! Whomever created this brace altered this young kings course for football! Thank you!
