I’ve never used or bought a back support belt before. I had no idea which one to buy. I looked through many reviews on Amazon before deciding upon this one and I’m happy with my purchase.I like it for these reasons:1. It is adjustable and fits me very well. I really like that there is a double layer of adjustable straps, that really helps me find the fit that feels “just right” for me. I ordered a size small and it’s perfect for me. I’m 5’7″, 133 pounds, with a 31″ waist. I included pictures because I always find them helpful and to show that the belt isn’t noticeable under clothing, it’s even fine under the t-shirt (which is fitted). The dress I’m wearing in the picture is also a small and the belt fit fine underneath. I had thought about buying the Mueller 255 belt because it was a little cheaper but I felt concerned that I might not get as accurate of a fit since the waist range was so much larger. The reviews were also slightly less positive. I’m glad I went with this one instead.2. The adjustable lumbar pad really makes a difference for me. I tried the belt on without it and my back pain was still noticeable. But with the lumbar pad and adjusting the belt, my back feels so much better! The relief from the pain is well worth the purchase.3. The belt is well made and very supportive. The structure is just firm enough to offer strong core support without being restrictive. My plan is to wear this belt occasionally, while walking and driving. I tend to have the most problems while driving. I wore it while on a long walk today and it did get warm/a little sweaty. Not super uncomfortable or surprising considering the weather and distance, but something that may be a bigger issue for some. It does not bother me much. The support is more important to me. Another consideration is that it’s possible to move and bend with the brace (especially depending upon how tight you adjust it), but if that’s the main purpose there might be other options that are more flexible (but may offer less support, I’m not sure).Other items from Amazon that I bought to help my back:* Cushion supports for my car seat (which have helped a lot). One is a wedge shaped cushion to sit on (my seat is slanted oddly and I wanted it to be more even so the wedge cushion made by Clever Yellow works well, and is available on Amazon). The other is a cushion to support my lumbar region, also available on Amazon: “Memory Foam Back Support Cushion – Designed for Back Pain Relief – Lumbar Pillow With Premium Adjustable Strap – Hypoallergenic Ventilative Mesh – Alleviates Lower Back Pain made by Xtreme Comforts.” I liked it because it has a convex (rather than concave) shape… most lumbar support cushions seem to be concave and that tends to irritate my back. It was one of the only convex cushions and I love it! It’s taller than most, very thick, has a removable cover, and really supports the length of my back. It does push me forward a bit, which I like in my car (I just put my seat back), but that may not be comfortable on a traditional, rolling office chair. I’m going to review both of the cushions on their pages as well. I tried another lumbar cushion by NurtureSoft but it was more concave shaped than I thought it would be and didn’t work for me.* The book Freedom from Pain by Peter Levine. I can’t write much about this one yet, as I just received it today, but I’m looking forward to reading it. I’ve been doing Trauma/Tension Release Exercises (TRE) multiple times a day and they have really really helped me (along with gradually increasing the distance of my walks), so I’m optimistic about learning about other exercises in the book!* Also planning on buying insoles and new shoes, as well as do Network Spinal Analysis at the chiropractor (a very gentle approach … traditional chiropractor tends to trigger my body and make the bracing worse). I’m hoping the chiropractor might be able to suggest insoles/shoes and posture-correction apparel as well.A month ago I was unable to move because of my back pain. It’s gotten much better and I have Faith it will continue to do so! Grateful for these supportive products to help me function better along the way!! If you’re reading this and in pain you’re in my heart and prayers. Hope you feel better soon!!! ๐

I clean houses for a living and this thing has helped me so much. I served in the Army and had worked on cars professionally prior to that. I am very tall so lower back pain has arrived now and is taking a toll. I started using this thing and it got better after a week. Now I use it and when I get home after a long day I can still function. I enjoy video games on pc so I sit at a desk after work a lot of times to get in some gaming. This helps me be able to play longer with friends online without needing to end the sesh due to pain. I also play electric guitar and this brace allows me to stand and play without overextending. I play metal music, so there is some good movement going on. Really nice to have found something that helps right away and has helped me enjoy my hobbies more.Pros:1. Reduces lower back pain after a while (there is some immediate relief also)2. Easy to conceal if you are a larger person (I am 6 foot 5 inches 200lb)3. Extra support pad is Velcro and can be moved as needed4. Elastic bands make it easy to adjust pressure especially if you need a break to sit down or something5. Extends time for hobbies6. Has made a legitimate improvement on my posture while standing and sitting7. Makes me eat less cheeseburgers (that’s a lie, I eat all them burgers with no shame)8. Improved sleep quality due to less pain in the lower back region at night (I’m not wearing it to sleep)9. When squatting or getting down it helps take pressure off your hips (I have a hip injury that limits my ability to squat/take a knee fully and this lets me do that somewhat)10. Arrived quickly and had small packaging (less materials is best in my opinion: less stuff to end up in a landfill)Cons:1. Bright orange Spartan Helmet (although cool, it would be nice if it was black also)2. Can increase bowel movement frequency from stomach pressure (unavoidable i know)3. Unless you use it directly on your skin it will move around if you are active4. Doesn’t dry easily, needs a fan on it after workSummary:Great device and would recommend it 10/10. Invest in it and your back with thank you.

My brace arrived dirty in a torn box but this was still a very positive experience. More often than not that’s an Amazon warehouse issue, not the fault of the seller. Contacted Sparthos in hope of getting it replaced faster than the Amazon policy. Received a reply within minutes (after hours in my EST zone) and multiple follow up replies the same evening. A refund was issued very quickly, they also didn’t ask for the used brace to be returned first (I offered to do so and send pictures, they were super understanding and didn’t require that). Fully intended to reorder the brace but my husband ran out and bought whatever was available so I wouldn’t need to wait another day or 3 for relief (I could tell the Sparthos brace was higher quality immediately but beggars can’t be choosers). If I injure my back again, I won’t hesitate to reorder from Sparthos. Side note: I also ordered the wrong size. I sized up to wear over clothes and it definitely wasn’t necessary. Double check their sizing chart and order down a size if you’re debating.*Much thanks to Bheng for the super prompt customer service!

I herniated two discs and could barely move let alone when I did it hurt. However with the back support I was able to at least get some relief where I wasn’t immobile. The sizing was a bit of an issue though as I really had to pull on the straps to get the straps to attach. My waist is a 42 and I thought the size would be fine but apparently consider the belly as well. I kept the size though as I can wear it and work from home so that is fine but if I was going to be out and about and in and out of cars I would size up one size if the belly is larger than the waist and you otherwise you should be good to go. Instant pain relief – very pleased
