   They do a great job keeping my feet warm enough.I used them in 14 degree weather with -4 degrees (Fahrenheit) wind chill. The lowest I’ve used them was -7 wind chill. They kept my feet warm enough for being outside for 35mins. My feet felt cold when I had cotton socks under these. So I stopped doing that and I felt fine. I’ve been using these for walking my dog out for a few weeks. I worry the bottoms will eventually wear out and get thin which means I’d have to go buy more soon 🙁

   These are high quality, warm, comfy, wool socks for a bargain price. I’ve been wearing a couple of pairs of these for many years in the winter and they’ve held up very well. Honestly, I couldn’t remember where I bought them or else I would have bought more long ago. I saw them on Amazon, plus I was happy to see them in black which is a bit more stylish than the grey ones I’ve been wearing. In recent years, I’ve purchased far more expensive wool socks (around $25/pair) from Smartwool and those are good but not any better than these. Plus these mid-weight socks are thick enough to be warm, yet not so thick to require shoes/boots 2 sizes up like the really heavyweight boot socks on the market (which are legitimately warm and are great for boots but awfully clunky for shoes). The key here is they are 80% wool, which is a higher wool quotient than anything in this price range. The important thing to remember is not to put them in the dryer, which will shrink and ruin wool socks. I find they launder just fine in warm water; I air dry them and they’ve been good to go for years and years. If you are a man with medium size feet (9-10), get the large. I can’t recommend them enough.

   These socks are really great! Wool. I just wore one pair for two days in a row. I never do that, but wool somehow absorbs and stays fresh. These socks are sturdy and thick. I just bought a 2nd 3-pack. Turn inside out for washing and hang to dry. I buy all the same color, so when I lose one, I still might be able to use the other one at some time in the future. I wear size 11.5 men’s and the larger size fits fine.

   I used to buy the Costco socks that were a high content Merino wool. Last year, they changed the ingredients to be less wool and more recycled fibres, which essentially felt like trash on my hands (I shudder to imagine what hiking in those trash socks would feel like, but I’m guessing it’d be horrid). Defeated after the annual Costco sock run (I’d gone to costco specifically to treat myself to a new pair of socks-a tradition I indulge in every year, much to the chagrin of my burgeoning sock drawer). So…I did the next logical thing and took to Amazon looking for a high percentage wool sock that would meet my needs… i.e. keeping my feet cosy and warm. These socks fit the bill and then some. Not only are they a high percentage wool, one of the highest available on the Internet to buy, they’re also an amazing price. Upon putting the socks on my feet, I realised that this was no ordinary wool sock. These socks were softer and more durable than even the Costco socks, which I’ve been obsessed with for many years. The real test happens in the wash. You see, I’m rather lazy and never bother to separate out the regular washes. Everything goes in at the same time and goes into the dryer for a good hot tumble round. These socks were unaffected by this, remained soft and cosy, and have continued to outperform any sock I’ve ever owned. I’m writing this review about 1 year after buying. They remain in near new condition in terms of softness, warmth, and durability. No holes or irritating seams, or weird shrinkages to be found. They fit well to the foot. I’ve put these socks through the paces, as I wear wool socks year round, due to my ridiculously cold feet. Hiking, farm work, gardening, camping, and walking around in them have not done a thing to them. Coming from a sock connoisseur who’s done an immense amount of research, these socks are it. So much so that I’m coming back here, a year later, to write this review and buy more. So if you’re looking for a sign….here it is. Buy these socks. You won’t regret it. Buy them for your adult friends….because nothing beats getting a high quality and high wool content sock.

   Here in the Seattle area, the temperature are in the 30’s and 40’s now. I wanted socks that would keep my feet warm, and these do the job quite nicely.As soon as I slipped them on, they immediately felt nice and cozy. In fact, they are so soft and warm that I can wear them in the house without slippers.I was a little hesitant when initially ordering because of the low price. Three pair for $21.99? How good could they be for that cost? The answer is these socks are an exceptional value, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good pair of cold-weather socks.

   I purchased these socks for an upcoming trip to Antarctica and have been wearing them during some very chilly days recently. They are so comfortable and warm that I’m sure they’ll keep my tootsies warm even in Antarctica, especially when worn with a thin base layer sock and heavy mukluks. In fact, at times my feet are a bit too warm!

   Very comfortable. I have peripheral neuropathy so preventing abrasion on my feet is crucial. These socks make my feet feel like they’re floating. I only wish you made them taller-I like over-the-calf style but can’t find any!

   I bought these for work to keep warm when outside. They are so comfortable and warm for the value. I hope they are durable in the long run. I would buy them again and want a darker color.
